Ingredients
- 4 tortillas
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 tbsp butter or oil
- Cooked chicken, beans, vegetables, or salsa (optional)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Heat a pan over medium heat and add butter or oil.
- Sprinkle a layer of shredded cheese directly onto the pan.
- Let the cheese melt and begin to crisp.
- Place a tortilla on top of the melted cheese.
- Add more cheese and any desired fillings to one half of the tortilla.
- Fold the tortilla over and press gently.
- Cook until the cheese forms a crispy golden crust.
- Flip and cook the other side until heated through.
- Remove from pan, let cool slightly, then slice and serve.
