A simple and flavorful yogurt marinated chicken recipe made with only three ingredients. The yogurt helps keep the chicken tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned for an easy family meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
  • 1 1/2 pounds chicken thighs or chicken breasts

Instructions

  1. Add the yogurt and dry onion soup mix to a large bowl and stir until smooth.
  2. Place the chicken into the bowl and coat each piece evenly with the marinade.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight for deeper flavor.
  4. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Arrange the marinated chicken in a baking dish or on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 25 to 35 minutes, depending on the thickness of the chicken, until fully cooked and lightly golden.
  7. Check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Greek yogurt can be used for a thicker and richer marinade.
  • Add paprika or chili powder for extra smoky flavor.
  • Ranch seasoning or garlic herb seasoning can replace the onion soup mix.
  • Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the chicken before serving for brightness.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Freeze cooked chicken for up to 2 months.
