A unique summer pizza combining juicy blackberries, creamy cheeses, and fresh basil, finished with a touch of sweetness for a perfectly balanced savory dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3/4 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 12 teaspoons honey or balsamic glaze
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness and place it on the prepared surface.
  3. Brush the dough lightly with olive oil and evenly distribute the minced garlic over it.
  4. Add small dollops of ricotta cheese across the dough, then sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly.
  5. Scatter the fresh blackberries on top, gently pressing them into the cheese.
  6. Season lightly with salt and black pepper.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and top with fresh basil leaves.
  9. Drizzle honey or balsamic glaze over the pizza, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Thaw and drain frozen blackberries before using to prevent excess moisture.
  • Goat cheese can be substituted for ricotta for a tangier flavor.
  • Add prosciutto after baking for a savory contrast.
  • Top with chopped walnuts for extra crunch.
  • For a vegan version, use plant-based cheese and substitute honey with agave.
