Ingredients

  • 1 lb steak (sirloin, ribeye, or flank)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 4 cups mixed greens or lettuce
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar or vinaigrette

Instructions

  1. Season the steak with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat and cook the steak for 4–6 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness.
  3. Remove the steak from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  4. In a large bowl, combine mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and avocado.
  5. Top the salad with sliced steak.
  6. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar or vinaigrette and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use sirloin, flank, or ribeye for best flavor and tenderness.
  • Add blue cheese or feta for extra richness.
  • Include nuts or croutons for added texture.
  • Try different dressings like mustard vinaigrette or creamy options.
  • Let steak rest before slicing to retain juices.
