Ingredients

  • 4 slices sourdough or rustic bread
  • 4 ounces smoked salmon
  • 4 tablespoons cream cheese or whipped ricotta
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon capers
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Toast the bread slices until golden brown and crisp.
  2. Spread cream cheese or whipped ricotta evenly over each slice of toast.
  3. Layer smoked salmon on top of the spread.
  4. Add thin slices of red onion and sprinkle capers over each toast.
  5. Drizzle lemon juice and olive oil on top.
