A rich and fudgy skillet brownie with crisp edges and a gooey chocolate center, perfect for serving warm straight from the pan.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease an 8-inch or 10-inch skillet.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl and let it cool slightly.
  3. Stir in granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  6. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Stir in chocolate chips.
  8. Pour batter into the prepared skillet and spread evenly.
  9. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the center is set but still slightly gooey.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving directly from the skillet.

Notes

  • Do not overbake to keep the center fudgy.
  • Add nuts like walnuts or pecans for extra texture.
  • Swirl in peanut butter or caramel for variation.
  • Serve warm with ice cream or chocolate sauce.
  • Reheat briefly in the microwave to restore gooey texture.
