A comforting Italian-inspired chicken dish made with juicy seasoned chicken breasts topped with rich marinara sauce, melted mozzarella cheese, and parmesan. This easy and flavorful dinner is perfect for busy weeknights or cozy family meals.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, sliced or shredded
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
  • Cherry tomatoes for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear the chicken on both sides until lightly golden.
  5. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Spoon marinara sauce over the chicken and sprinkle parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Place mozzarella cheese over each piece of chicken.
  8. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and optional cherry tomatoes before serving.
