A fun and flavorful dish of crispy tortilla chips layered with seasoned meat, melted cheese, and fresh toppings, perfect for sharing or casual meals.

Ingredients

  • 200g tortilla chips
  • 300g ground beef or shredded chicken
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 cup black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup jalapeños, sliced
  • 1/2 cup tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup guacamole
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef until browned.
  3. Add taco seasoning, salt, and black pepper, then stir well and set aside.
  4. Spread a layer of tortilla chips on a large baking sheet or oven-safe dish.
  5. Top with cooked meat, black beans, and a generous amount of shredded cheese.
  6. Add another layer of chips and repeat the toppings.
  7. Bake in the oven for 10–12 minutes until the cheese is fully melted.
  8. Remove from the oven and top with diced tomatoes, red onion, jalapeños, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.
  9. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, skip the meat and add extra beans or grilled vegetables.
  • Use pepper jack cheese for a spicier flavor.
  • Add corn or olives for extra texture and taste.
  • Layer ingredients evenly to prevent soggy chips.
  • Add fresh toppings after baking to keep them fresh and vibrant.
