A light and comforting Lemon Butter Pasta made with tender pasta tossed in a silky buttery lemon sauce with garlic, parmesan, and fresh herbs. This quick and flavorful dish is perfect for an easy lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces pasta of choice
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining the pasta.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter with the olive oil.
  4. Sauté the garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the lemon juice and lemon zest.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat.
  7. Pour in a small amount of reserved pasta water to create a silky sauce.
  8. Stir in the parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and extra parmesan before serving.
  10. Serve warm while the sauce is creamy and smooth.

  • Spaghetti, linguine, fettuccine, or penne all work well for this recipe.
