Juicy baked chicken breasts coated in a sweet and spicy hot honey glaze that caramelizes beautifully in the oven for bold, comforting flavor.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry and place them in the baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, mix honey, hot sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, paprika, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and vinegar or lemon juice.
  4. Pour the sauce over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated.
  5. Add small pieces of butter on top if using.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, basting halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through and caramelized.
  7. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

  • Use chicken thighs for a juicier alternative.
  • Add a splash of soy sauce for extra depth of flavor.
  • Baste during cooking for a richer glaze.
  • Ensure internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F).
