Ingredients

  • 2 inches fresh ginger root, peeled and grated
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and grate the fresh ginger and turmeric if using fresh turmeric root.
  2. Add fresh lemon juice to a blender or mixing bowl.
  3. Add ginger, turmeric, water, and a pinch of black pepper.
  4. Blend until smooth.
  5. Strain the mixture if a smoother texture is preferred.
  6. Stir in honey or maple syrup if desired.
