Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil or butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until soft and fragrant.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
  5. Add sliced potatoes and pour in beef broth. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Cover and cook until potatoes are tender, about 20–25 minutes.
  7. Pour in heavy cream and sprinkle shredded cheese over the top.
  8. Cook uncovered for a few minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes creamy.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
