Crispy and light air fryer potato chips made with minimal oil. This easy homemade snack is perfectly seasoned and a healthier alternative to deep-fried chips.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium potatoes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Wash and thinly slice the potatoes using a knife or mandoline.
  2. Soak the slices in cold water for 20 to 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  3. Drain and pat the potato slices completely dry.
  4. Toss the slices with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
  6. Cook at 180°C (350°F) for 10 to 15 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  7. Remove when crispy and golden.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving for extra crispiness.

Notes

  • Use a mandoline for evenly thin slices.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket.
  • Dry potatoes thoroughly for best crispiness.
  • Add spices like paprika, garlic powder, or chili powder for variation.
  • Chips crisp up more as they cool.
  • Store in airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat briefly in air fryer to restore crunch.
  • Sweet potatoes can be used with adjusted cooking time.
