This Texas Roadhouse Butter Chicken Skillet is a bold, buttery, and flavor-packed one-pan meal you can whip up in just 25 minutes. Juicy chicken breasts are coated in a smoky garlic butter sauce with a hint of honey, making this dish rich, comforting, and perfect for busy weeknights or easy meal prep.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together butter, honey, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear chicken breasts for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (165°F internal temperature). Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Pour chicken broth into the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
  4. Stir in the prepared butter mixture and simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Return chicken breasts to the skillet, spoon sauce over the top, and simmer for another 2–3 minutes.
  6. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs instead of breasts for a juicier result.
  • Add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
  • Stir in heavy cream or coconut milk for a creamy variation.
  • Serve over mashed potatoes, white rice, or cauliflower rice.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
