Swirl Cream Cheese Brownies are rich, fudgy, and beautifully marbled with a tangy cream cheese swirl. These indulgent treats are easy to make from scratch and perfect for both casual and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • For the brownie layer:
    • Unsalted butter
    • Granulated sugar
    • Brown sugar
    • Eggs
    • Vanilla extract
    • Unsweetened cocoa powder
    • All-purpose flour
    • Salt
    • Baking powder
    • Optional: chocolate chips or chunks
  • For the cream cheese swirl:
    • Cream cheese (softened)
    • Granulated sugar
    • Egg yolk
    • Vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter and stir in both sugars, then whisk in the eggs and vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Combine with the wet mixture to form a thick batter. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  4. Spread most of the brownie batter into the pan, reserving some for the top.
  5. For the cream cheese swirl, beat the softened cream cheese with sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Dollop the cream cheese mixture over the brownie base and spoon the reserved brownie batter on top.
  7. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the layers together in a marbled pattern.
  8. Bake for 30–35 minutes, until the center is just set. Let cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Add espresso powder to deepen chocolate flavor.
  • Swap cream cheese with peanut butter or jam for variations.
  • Crushed Oreos or festive sprinkles make fun add-ins.
  • Use a butter knife or toothpick for perfect swirls—avoid overmixing.
  • Store at room temp up to 3 days, fridge for 5, or freeze individually.
