Stunning Apple Roses are elegant pastries made by rolling thin apple slices in puff pastry to create rose-like shapes. Lightly sweetened and spiced with cinnamon, these treats are as beautiful as they are delicious—perfect for brunch, holidays, or impressing guests with minimal effort.

Ingredients

  • 2 red apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala), thinly sliced
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp apricot preserves or apple jelly
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar or brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • All-purpose flour (for dusting)
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a muffin tin.
  2. Slice apples in half, core, and thinly slice into 1/8-inch pieces. Place in bowl with water and lemon juice. Microwave for 3 minutes to soften.
  3. Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into 6 equal strips.
  4. Mix sugar and cinnamon. Spread a thin layer of apricot preserves on each pastry strip and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  5. Arrange overlapping apple slices along the top half of each strip, skin side over the edge.
  6. Fold the bottom half of the pastry up over the apples, then roll from one end to form a rose shape.
  7. Place each rolled rose in a muffin cup. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
