Ingredients

  • 8 oz noodles (rice noodles, egg noodles, or stir-fry noodles)
  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Optional: sesame seeds and chili flakes for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Toss sliced beef with cornstarch, black pepper, and a splash of soy sauce. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or wok over high heat. Stir-fry beef for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  5. In the same pan, sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  6. Pour in the sticky sauce and let it simmer for 1 minute.
  7. Return beef to the pan along with the cooked noodles. Toss everything to coat well in the sauce.
  8. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and chili flakes if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Swap in chicken, tofu, or mushrooms for a different protein.
  • Add vegetables like bell peppers, broccoli, or snap peas for extra nutrition.
  • Make the sauce spicier with chili paste, sriracha, or red pepper flakes.
  • Use any noodles you have on hand — even spaghetti works!
