Juicy and flavorful ground chicken burgers mixed with fresh spinach, salty feta, and Mediterranean-inspired seasonings for a lighter yet satisfying alternative to traditional beef burgers.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Burger buns for serving
  • Optional toppings: sliced tomato, cucumber, lettuce, tzatziki sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped spinach, feta cheese, garlic, red onion, breadcrumbs, egg, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Gently mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the mixture.
  3. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into burger patties.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook the patties for 5–6 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Lightly toast burger buns if desired.
  7. Assemble burgers with preferred toppings and serve warm.

Notes

  • Avoid overmixing to keep the burgers tender.
  • Well-oiled grill grates help prevent sticking if grilling.
  • Fresh dill can be used instead of oregano for a brighter flavor.
  • Serve in lettuce wraps for a lower-carb option.
  • Freeze uncooked patties separated by parchment paper for up to 3 months.
