Spiderweb Pizza is a spooky and kid-friendly Halloween dinner idea featuring melty mozzarella, savory pizza sauce, and a creepy spiderweb design made with string or cream cheese. Fun to decorate and even more fun to eat, it’s perfect for Halloween parties or themed dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 ball pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 12 string cheese sticks or 2 tablespoons softened cream cheese (for web)
  • Black olives, sliced (for spiders)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing crust)
  • Optional: pepperoni, mushrooms, jalapeños, or other favorite toppings

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Roll out pizza dough onto a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  2. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  3. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  4. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden brown.
  5. Remove from oven. Use string cheese or pipe cream cheese in concentric circles over the top.
  6. Drag a toothpick or knife from the center to the edge to create a spiderweb pattern.
  7. Create spiders using olive slices—one whole slice for the body and small slivers for legs.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy your spooky Spiderweb Pizza!

Notes

  • Use pesto instead of pizza sauce for a green ‘monster’ web.
  • Mini versions work great with English muffins or pita rounds.
  • Top with jalapeños or spicy cheese for heat.
  • Create a dessert version with cookie dough, chocolate spread, and icing.
  • Add web and olive spiders after baking for the cleanest look.
