Savory Smoked Salmon Linguine is a creamy, luxurious pasta dish featuring linguine tossed in a garlic-infused cream sauce with smoky salmon, fresh herbs, and a touch of lemon. It’s quick, flavorful, and perfect for an elevated yet easy meal.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz linguine pasta
  • 6 oz smoked salmon, flaked or sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small shallot, finely chopped (optional)
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill or parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook linguine in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Sauté garlic and shallot (if using) for 2–3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  3. Add cream and Parmesan to the skillet, stirring until cheese melts and sauce thickens slightly (about 3–4 minutes).
  4. Stir in smoked salmon, lemon zest, lemon juice, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Cook for 1–2 minutes until salmon is warmed through.
  5. Add cooked linguine and toss to coat in the sauce. Add reserved pasta water a little at a time if the sauce needs loosening.
  6. Finish with chopped dill or parsley and more Parmesan if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use cold-smoked salmon for a silky texture, or hot-smoked for a flakier finish.
  • Add capers or baby spinach for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • Swap linguine with fettuccine, spaghetti, or penne as needed.
  • Use half-and-half for a lighter version, or dairy-free cream and cheese alternatives for dairy-free.
  • Reheat gently on the stovetop with a splash of milk or cream to maintain texture.
