Ingredients

  • 8 slices bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 24 slices pepperoni
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Place four slices of bread, buttered side down, on a clean surface.
  3. Spread pizza sauce evenly over each slice.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly on top of the sauce.
  5. Add pepperoni slices and a pinch of Italian seasoning.
  6. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the toppings.
  7. Place the remaining slices of bread on top, buttered side up.
  8. Heat a skillet over medium heat and carefully place the sandwiches in the pan.
  9. Cook for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
  10. Remove from the skillet, let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use sturdy bread like sourdough or Italian bread for best results.
  • Avoid overloading with sauce to prevent sogginess.
  • Garlic butter can be used instead of plain butter for extra flavor.
  • Customize with cooked sausage, mushrooms, olives, or jalapeños.
  • Reheat in a skillet or oven at 350°F for best crispiness.
