Tender, sweet apples cooked with warm cinnamon and butter—like quick apple pie filling perfect for breakfasts, sides, or cozy desserts.

Ingredients

  • 4 large apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Granny Smith), peeled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice apples into even pieces.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add apples and cook 5–7 minutes until they begin to soften.
  4. Sprinkle in brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and salt.
  5. Cook another 5–7 minutes until apples are tender and coated in a syrupy glaze.
  6. Stir in vanilla extract to finish.
  7. Serve warm as a side, topping, or dessert.
