This Pepperoni Pizza Grilled Cheese combines crispy, buttery bread with melty mozzarella, zesty marinara, and bold pepperoni for the ultimate comfort food mashup. Quick, easy, and ready in 20 minutes—it’s the perfect cheesy sandwich for pizza lovers.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread (white, sourdough, or Italian)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 100 g (3.5 oz) mozzarella cheese, shredded or sliced
  • 4050 g (1.5 oz) pepperoni slices (about 16 slices)
  • 2 tablespoons marinara sauce (plus more for dipping)
  • Optional: Pinch of Italian seasoning or crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
  2. Place 2 slices butter-side down. Add half the mozzarella, a spoonful of marinara, pepperoni slices, and seasoning if using.
  3. Top with remaining cheese and second slice of bread, buttered side up.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium. Grill sandwiches for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until golden and cheese is melted.
  5. Let rest 1 minute, slice, and serve with extra marinara for dipping.

Notes

  • Add mushrooms, olives, or onions for more flavor.
  • Try different cheeses like cheddar, provolone, or gouda.
  • Use focaccia or garlic Texas toast for a richer version.
  • Can be baked or air-fried for less mess.
  • Prep ungrilled sandwiches ahead and cook fresh when ready.
