Parmesan Crusted Cod is a light, flavorful dish featuring tender, flaky cod fillets baked with a crispy Parmesan crust. Bold with garlic, smoked paprika, and a touch of heat, it’s an easy, healthy dinner option ready in under 25 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 4 cod filets, about 5 ounces each
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F and lightly spray a baking sheet with non-stick spray.
  2. In one shallow dish, beat the egg. In another, mix Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Dip each cod filet into the egg, then press it into the Parmesan mixture to coat all sides.
  4. Place the coated filets on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
  5. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the crust is golden and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Serve hot with lemon wedges or tartar sauce.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add chopped herbs or lemon zest to the Parmesan mix.
  • Double the red pepper flakes for more heat or add cayenne.
  • This recipe is naturally gluten-free—no breadcrumbs needed.
  • Use firm white fish like haddock, tilapia, or halibut as a substitute.
  • Leftovers reheat best in the oven at 350°F for 8–10 minutes.
