Oven Grilled Tilapia is a quick and healthy seafood dish featuring flaky tilapia fillets seasoned with garlic, lemon, herbs, and spices, then broiled to perfection. This easy, no-grill-needed recipe delivers a charred, grilled flavor straight from the oven—perfect for a light dinner with rice, veggies, or salad.

Ingredients

  • 24 tilapia fillets (fresh or thawed)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp dried herbs (parsley, thyme, or oregano)
  • Optional: red pepper flakes, lemon slices, fresh herbs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to broil (high). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment.
  2. Pat tilapia dry and place on the prepared sheet.
  3. In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, paprika, salt, pepper, and herbs.
  4. Brush or spoon marinade over both sides of the fillets.
  5. Place tray on top oven rack (about 6 inches from broiler).
  6. Broil for 8–10 minutes, until fish flakes easily and edges are lightly browned.
  7. Remove from oven and serve hot with lemon slices and fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

  • Use Cajun seasoning for a spicy twist or Parmesan-garlic topping for extra flavor.
  • For Mediterranean flair, add sliced olives, cherry tomatoes, and capers before cooking.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days; reheat gently to avoid drying.
  • Can be baked at 400°F for 12–15 minutes instead of broiled.
