This One-Pan Chicken with Buttered Noodles recipe is a quick, comforting dinner made with simple ingredients like seasoned chicken, buttery egg noodles, garlic, and parmesan. Ready in just 30 minutes, it’s a cozy, one-pan meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights or relaxed family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Garlic powder, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Sear chicken in a large skillet with olive oil over medium heat for 5–7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Add egg noodles and cook until tender, about 7–8 minutes.
  5. Stir in remaining butter and grated parmesan cheese until the noodles are creamy and well-coated.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet and simmer for a few more minutes to combine flavors.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a creamier version, stir in a splash of heavy cream before serving.
  • Add vegetables like peas, spinach, or broccoli to make it a one-pan meal.
  • Use fresh parmesan for best flavor and texture.
  • To reheat, add a splash of broth or water to loosen the sauce.
  • Not freezer-friendly due to egg noodles becoming mushy.
