This One-Pan Cheesy Beef & Bowtie Pasta recipe is a quick, hearty, and comforting weeknight dinner made with ground beef, tender pasta, melty cheese, and a rich tomato base—all in one skillet. Minimal cleanup, maximum flavor, and always a family favorite!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (14 oz) can diced tomatoes (with juices)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1½ cups uncooked bowtie (farfalle) pasta
  • ½ cup tomato sauce or marinara
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese (or mozzarella, or a mix)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion for 6–8 minutes until browned. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more. Drain excess grease.
  2. Stir in diced tomatoes, beef broth, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add uncooked bowtie pasta and stir.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and liquid is mostly absorbed.
  4. Stir in half of the cheese until melted. Sprinkle the rest on top, cover, and let melt for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot straight from the pan.

Notes

  • Swap ground beef with ground turkey, chicken, or plant-based meat.
  • Add a splash of cream or sour cream for a creamier texture.
  • Stir in veggies like spinach or bell peppers near the end of cooking.
  • Pre-shredded cheese is fine, but freshly grated melts better.
  • Stir occasionally while cooking to prevent pasta from sticking.
