Festive and fun Melted Snowman Biscuits made with soft, buttery biscuits and decorated with marshmallows, icing, and candy to look like melting snowmen. A whimsical holiday treat perfect for kids and parties.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk or buttermilk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk or water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 810 large marshmallows
  • Black decorating gel or melted chocolate (for eyes and buttons)
  • Orange sprinkle, icing, or candy (for nose)
  • Mini M&Ms, chocolate chips, or sprinkles (for buttons)
  • Licorice strings or colored icing (for scarves)
  • Optional: pretzel sticks (for arms)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in milk just until a soft dough forms. Roll out dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut into circles.
  4. Place biscuits on baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden. Cool completely.
  5. Whisk powdered sugar with milk and vanilla (if using) to make a smooth, pourable icing.
  6. Spoon icing over each biscuit, letting it drip to resemble melting snow.
  7. Press a marshmallow on each biscuit for the snowman head. Decorate with gel, candy, or sprinkles to create the snowman face, buttons, scarf, and arms.
  8. Let sit for 15–30 minutes for the icing to set before serving.

Notes

  • Use sugar cookies or shortbread for a sweeter variation.
  • Flavor icing with peppermint extract for a holiday twist.
  • Use melted white chocolate instead of icing for richness.
  • Decorate just before serving for best appearance.
  • Kids can help decorate their own snowmen for a fun activity.
