Maple Glazed Carrots are a quick and elegant side dish that combines tender carrots with a buttery maple syrup glaze. Sweet, savory, and beautifully caramelized, these carrots are the perfect addition to holiday meals or weeknight dinners—ready in under 30 minutes with just a few ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb carrots, peeled and sliced (or baby carrots)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: fresh thyme or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Slice carrots evenly (halve baby carrots if thick).
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Add carrots and sauté for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Pour in maple syrup, stir, and cook for 10–12 more minutes until carrots are tender and glazed.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Garnish with fresh herbs, if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Add cinnamon or cayenne pepper for a flavor twist.
  • To roast instead: toss carrots with butter and maple syrup, roast at 400°F for 25–30 minutes.
  • Use honey as a substitute for maple syrup if needed.
  • Reheat gently in a skillet to maintain the glaze.
