Ingredients

  • 1 bag frozen French fries
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or more, to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tomato, diced (optional)
  • Sliced jalapeños (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the frozen fries according to package directions until golden and crispy.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess grease.
  3. Season the beef with chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well and set aside.
  4. Once fries are ready, transfer them to a baking sheet or oven-safe platter. Top with half of the shredded cheese.
  5. Spread the cooked beef over the fries, then sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  6. Return to the oven for 3–5 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from oven and top with sour cream, chopped green onions, and any other desired garnishes. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Make it spicier: Add cayenne pepper to the beef or top with jalapeños and hot sauce.
  • Alternate proteins: Use ground turkey or shredded chicken instead of beef.
  • Cheese options: Try Monterey Jack, pepper jack, or a nacho cheese drizzle.
  • Tex-Mex twist: Add black beans, corn, or salsa for extra flavor.
  • Crispier leftovers: Reheat in the oven at 375°F to restore crispness.
