Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 black tea bags or 2 teaspoons loose-leaf tea
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried culinary lavender
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 12 tablespoons honey or sugar (to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat water until just below boiling.
  2. Add tea bags or loose-leaf tea and dried lavender, then steep for about 5 minutes.
  3. Strain the tea to remove lavender and tea leaves.
  4. Stir in honey or sugar while the tea is still warm until dissolved.
  5. Heat the milk separately and froth if desired.
  6. Pour the warm milk into the tea and stir to combine.
  7. Add vanilla extract if using and mix well.
  8. Serve warm or let cool and serve over ice.

Notes

  • Do not over-steep lavender to avoid bitterness.
  • Adjust sweetness to your preference.
  • Green tea can be used for a lighter flavor.
  • Oat milk or other plant-based milk adds extra creaminess.
  • Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
