Rich and fluffy Indulgent Chocolate Waffles with a crisp exterior and soft, tender center. Packed with deep chocolate flavor, these waffles are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • Optional Toppings:
  • Whipped cream
  • Fresh berries
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat waffle iron according to manufacturer’s instructions and lightly grease if needed.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then mix in milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  6. Scoop batter onto the preheated waffle iron, spreading slightly if necessary.
  7. Cook for 3–5 minutes, or until waffles are crisp and fully cooked.
  8. Carefully remove and serve immediately with desired toppings.

Notes

  • Do not overmix to keep waffles tender.
  • Add 1 teaspoon espresso powder to enhance chocolate flavor.
  • Keep cooked waffles on a wire rack in a warm oven to maintain crispness.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze cooled waffles for up to 2 months and reheat in a toaster or oven.
