Ingredients
4 cups fresh or frozen green beans
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 1/2 cups crispy fried onions
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir until smooth.
Add the green beans and gently mix so they are evenly coated with the sauce.
Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
Sprinkle about half of the crispy fried onions over the top.
Bake for 25 minutes until the casserole is hot and bubbly.
Remove from the oven, add the remaining crispy onions on top, and bake for another 5 minutes until golden and crisp.
Serve warm.
Notes
Canned green beans can be used for convenience; drain them well before mixing.
Sautéed mushrooms or onions can be added for deeper flavor.
Mix shredded cheddar cheese into the sauce for a richer variation.
Add a pinch of smoked paprika for a subtle smoky flavor.
For a homemade version, replace canned soup with a simple cream sauce made from butter, flour, milk, and mushrooms.
