Ghost Fruit Skewers are a fun and healthy Halloween treat made with bananas decorated as ghosts, paired with colorful fresh fruits on skewers. They’re easy to assemble, kid-friendly, and perfect for festive gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 34 ripe but firm bananas
  • 2 tbsp mini chocolate chips (for eyes)
  • 2 tbsp regular chocolate chips or black icing (for mouths)
  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled
  • 1 cup grapes
  • 1 cup melon balls
  • 1 cup kiwi slices or pineapple chunks
  • 12 tsp lemon juice (optional, to prevent browning)
  • 68 wooden skewers or popsicle sticks

Instructions

  1. Peel the bananas and cut them in half to form ghost shapes.
  2. Press two mini chocolate chips into each banana half for eyes and add a regular chocolate chip or dot of icing for the mouth.
  3. Brush lightly with lemon juice if desired to prevent browning.
  4. Thread each banana ghost onto the top of a skewer, followed by a mix of colorful fruits like strawberries, grapes, and melon.
  5. Arrange the skewers on a tray and chill for 10–15 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use firm bananas to help them hold their shape on the skewers.
  • For a sweeter version, dip banana ghosts in melted white chocolate before decorating.
  • Can be prepared a few hours ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
  • Serve cold or at room temperature for best texture.
