Ingredients

  • 4 tilapia fillets (about 4 servings)
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 23 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp softened butter
  • 12 tsp lemon juice (or lemon zest)
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp celery salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Optional: dill, parsley, paprika, panko or breadcrumbs for extra crunch

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to broil and position rack near the top.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix Parmesan cheese, mayonnaise, butter, lemon juice (or zest), basil, onion powder, celery salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Place tilapia fillets on a lightly greased or foil-lined baking sheet.
  4. Broil fillets for 3–5 minutes until partially cooked.
  5. Spread Parmesan mixture evenly over each fillet.
  6. Return to the broiler for 2–5 minutes, until topping is golden and fish flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Serve immediately with lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

  • For brighter flavor, use lemon zest or combine juice and zest.
  • Mix in dill, parsley, or paprika for variation.
  • For more texture, add panko or breadcrumbs to the topping.
  • Greek yogurt or sour cream can replace mayonnaise.
  • Can substitute cod, halibut, or other white fish—adjust cooking time for thickness.
