Creamy shrimp Alfredo is a rich and indulgent pasta dish featuring tender shrimp tossed with fettuccine in a smooth, garlicky Parmesan cream sauce. It’s easy to make in under 30 minutes and perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 12 oz fettuccine or pasta of choice
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add more butter if needed. Sauté garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese and whisk until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  6. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Add cooked pasta and shrimp to the skillet. Toss until well coated in the sauce.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for a smoother sauce.
  • Add spinach, broccoli, or red pepper flakes for variation.
  • Stir in a spoonful of cream cheese for extra richness if desired.
  • Reheat gently to avoid overcooking shrimp or breaking the sauce.
