Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 8 ounces pasta (penne, fettuccine, or preferred shape)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water according to package directions. In the last 2 minutes, add broccoli florets. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season the chicken with salt and pepper. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Cook chicken 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and let rest; slice into strips.
  3. Sauté garlic in the same skillet for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Parmesan and red pepper flakes, whisking until smooth.
  5. Return chicken, pasta, and broccoli to the skillet. Toss everything together to coat in sauce.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

  • Omit chicken or substitute with sautéed mushrooms for a vegetarian option.
  • Use shrimp or rotisserie chicken as a protein swap.
  • Substitute half-and-half or whole milk for a lighter version.
  • Add sun-dried tomatoes or sautéed mushrooms for extra flavor depth.
  • Use whole wheat, gluten-free, or your favorite pasta shape.
