Ingredients

  • 1 can crescent roll dough or 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting or glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out crescent dough or puff pastry and spread softened cream cheese evenly over the surface.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 8–10 even rolls.
  5. Place rolls flat-side down on the baking sheet and brush tops with melted butter.
  6. Bake for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Let cool slightly and optionally dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with icing.

Notes

  • Add chopped pecans or walnuts for crunch.
  • Mix brown sugar into the cream cheese for extra richness.
  • Use flavored cream cheese for variety.
  • A pinch of nutmeg or cardamom adds extra warmth.
  • Make a quick glaze with powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
