Rich, creamy, bite-sized chocolate treats made from high-quality chocolate and cream. Smooth, decadent, and customizable, perfect for gifting or indulgent snacking.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz good-quality dark or semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter (optional, for extra richness)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or other flavorings (optional)
  • For coating: cocoa powder, chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or melted chocolate

Instructions

  1. Heat the cream in a saucepan until just about to simmer, then pour over chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
  2. Let sit for 1 minute, then stir gently until smooth and fully melted. Add butter and vanilla if using.
  3. Cover the ganache and chill in the fridge for 1–2 hours until firm enough to scoop.
  4. Use a small cookie scoop or spoon to portion the ganache and roll into balls by hand.
  5. Roll truffles in cocoa powder, chopped nuts, or dip in melted chocolate for a smooth shell.
  6. Place truffles on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate until firm.

Notes

  • Infuse cream with espresso, orange zest, or spices for unique flavors.
  • Add flavored extracts like peppermint or almond to ganache.
  • Try coatings like crushed freeze-dried berries, toffee bits, or white chocolate drizzle.
  • Optional: add a splash of liqueur to the ganache for an adult version.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week; freeze for up to 2 months.
