Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts, sliced into thin cutlets
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup oil (for frying)
  • 250g mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Slice chicken breasts into thinner cutlets and gently pound them to an even thickness.
  2. Prepare a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
  3. Coat each chicken piece in flour, dip into eggs, and cover with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and fry the chicken until golden and crispy on both sides, then set aside.
  5. In the same pan, melt butter and sauté chopped onion and garlic until soft.
  6. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until tender and lightly browned.
  7. Pour in chicken broth and let it simmer.
  8. Stir in cream and cook until the gravy thickens.
  9. Season with salt and pepper and serve the gravy over the schnitzel.
