  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk or heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking dish with butter.

  3. In a pan, melt butter and sauté onion and garlic until soft and fragrant.
  4. Add milk or cream and heat gently, then stir in half of the cheese until melted and smooth.
  5. Place the potatoes in the baking dish and pour the cheese sauce over them, mixing gently to coat.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and add paprika if desired.

Notes

  • Add vegetables like broccoli or mushrooms for extra texture.
  • Mix cheeses such as mozzarella or gouda for richer flavor.
  • Use heavy cream instead of milk for extra creaminess.
  • Add chili flakes for a slight spicy kick.
  • Add a splash of milk when reheating to maintain creaminess.
