Soft, pillowy buttery garlic naan bread brushed with fragrant garlic butter and fresh herbs, perfect for scooping, dipping, or enjoying on its own.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
  • 1/2 cup warm water (as needed)
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add yogurt, olive oil or melted butter, and warm water, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead briefly until smooth, then cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  4. Divide dough into 6–8 equal portions.
  5. Roll each portion into an oval shape.
  6. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  7. Cook naan until bubbles form and the bottom is golden, then flip and cook the other side.
  8. Mix melted butter with minced garlic.
  9. Brush warm naan generously with garlic butter.
  10. Sprinkle with chopped parsley or cilantro and serve.

  • No yeast is required, making this naan quick and easy.
  • Add herbs or garlic to the dough for extra flavor.
