Ingredients

  • 3 sandwich buns
  • 2 chicken breasts or 6 chicken tenders
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 cup pickles (optional)
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise or ranch dressing
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Dredge each piece in flour, dip into beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the chicken until golden brown and fully cooked. Transfer to paper towels to drain.
  4. In a small pan, melt butter and mix with buffalo sauce.
  5. Toss the fried chicken in the buffalo sauce until evenly coated.
  6. Lightly toast the sandwich buns.
  7. Spread mayonnaise or ranch dressing on both sides of the buns.
  8. Assemble the sandwich by placing buffalo chicken on the bun, then add lettuce, tomato, and pickles if using.
  9. Close the sandwich and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Grill, bake, or air fry the chicken for a lighter version.
  • Add blue cheese crumbles or sliced cheese for extra flavor.
  • Adjust spice by using less buffalo sauce or mixing with extra butter.
  • Use rotisserie chicken for a quick alternative.
  • Store chicken separately for up to 2 days in the refrigerator.
  • Reheat in oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
  • Brioche buns work best for a soft and rich texture.
