Broccoli Cheese Patties are crispy, savory veggie patties made with tender broccoli, melted cheese, and simple seasonings. Perfect as a snack, side dish, or meatless meal, they’re easy to make and deliciously satisfying.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups fresh or frozen broccoli florets
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese blend)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs or panko
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Steam or boil broccoli until tender, then drain and chop finely.
  2. In a large bowl, mix chopped broccoli, shredded cheese, eggs, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and sautéed onion if using.
  3. Scoop and shape the mixture into 10–12 small patties using your hands.
  4. To pan-fry: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  5. To bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place patties on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spray lightly with oil, and bake for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Notes

  • Add shredded carrots or zucchini for more veggies.
  • Swap in mozzarella, feta, or pepper jack cheese.
  • For a gluten-free version, use almond flour or gluten-free breadcrumbs.
  • Chilling patties before cooking helps them hold together.
  • Reheat in a skillet, oven, or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
