This Balsamic Chicken recipe is a fast and flavorful one-pan dinner featuring juicy seared chicken coated in a sweet and tangy balsamic glaze. Made with simple pantry ingredients and ready in under 30 minutes, it’s perfect for busy weeknights or elegant meals without the fuss.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 12 tbsp olive oil
  • 34 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning or dried thyme
  • Optional: cherry tomatoes or fresh basil, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 5–6 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Reduce heat and sauté garlic in the same pan for 30 seconds.
  4. Add balsamic vinegar, honey, and chicken broth. Scrape the pan to deglaze.
  5. Simmer the sauce for 4–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Return chicken to the pan, spoon sauce over it, and simmer for another 1–2 minutes.
  7. Garnish with cherry tomatoes or basil if using. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs for extra juiciness or breasts for a leaner meal.
  • Add mushrooms or onions to bulk up the dish.
  • A splash of soy sauce or a pat of butter can deepen the flavor.
  • Use store-bought balsamic glaze if skipping the sauce reduction.
  • Double the sauce to drizzle over grains or veggies.
