Apple pie tacos are a fun and easy twist on classic apple pie, featuring crispy cinnamon-sugar tortilla shells filled with warm, spiced apple pie filling. Perfect for parties or holidays, these dessert tacos are ready in just 20 minutes and are extra delicious with whipped cream or ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 1 can (or 2 cups) apple pie filling (homemade or store-bought)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • Optional: whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Lightly brush both sides of the tortillas with melted butter.
  4. Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture over both sides.
  5. Drape tortillas over taco molds or carefully fold them over the oven rack bars to shape.
  6. Bake for 8–10 minutes until crisp and golden. Let cool slightly.
  7. Meanwhile, warm apple pie filling in a saucepan over low heat until fragrant.
  8. Spoon warm filling into each taco shell.
  9. Serve immediately with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.

Notes

  • Add chopped pecans or walnuts to filling for crunch.
  • Drizzle caramel sauce over filling for caramel apple tacos.
  • Use pumpkin or cherry pie filling for seasonal variations.
  • For fried shells, cook tortillas in hot oil until golden, then coat with cinnamon sugar.
  • Flour tortillas work best for sweet desserts; corn tortillas may be too firm.
