Air fryer chicken tenders are a crispy, juicy, and healthier alternative to deep-fried chicken. Made with seasoned panko breadcrumbs and minimal oil, they’re perfect for a quick, kid-friendly dinner or snack in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken tenders or boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into strips)
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Cooking spray or oil for spraying

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare three bowls: Bowl 1: all-purpose flour; Bowl 2: beaten eggs; Bowl 3: mix panko, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dredge each chicken strip in flour, then egg, then breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Spray air fryer basket lightly with cooking spray and place tenders in a single layer.
  5. Lightly spray tops with oil and air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. Ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Add cayenne or chili flakes to the breadcrumb mix for heat.
  • Mix Parmesan cheese into breadcrumbs for a cheesy coating.
  • Use almond flour and gluten-free breadcrumbs for a GF version.
  • Skip breading and air fry seasoned chicken strips for a low-carb option.
